The Philippines: An Attractive Offshore Outsourcing Option for North American Companies

The combination of low operations costs, a solid and redundant telecommunications infrastructure, and an educated, English-speaking workforce has made the Philippines an attractive offshore outsourcing option for North American companies struggling to reduce costs in a challenging economy, a study from Info-Tech Research Group reveals.

While India keeps a small lead in call center outsourcing having attracted $US 4.7 billion in revenue in 2008, the Philippines captured $US 4 billion making it the second largest call center outsourcing player globally.

"The continuing upsurge of call centers in the Philippines is attributed to high quality service delivered by educated English-speaking agents with accents similar to their North American callers," said Howard Kiewe, senior research analyst with Info-Tech Research Group. "This lesser known call center hub is a key contender for many international corporations attempting to lower their costs through outsourcing their call centers."

Virtual Assistants Will Boost Your Marketing - Part 2

One good example is not everyone is an expert at using Web 2.0 for marketing. Besides, it can cosume a lot of your time every day. Wouldn't you rather use that time to focus on other core projects develop your business in other ways or even relax and enjoy?

Here are a few marketing asks that a virtual assistant can perform for you:
  • Promote your business in social networking sites -- A very time-consuming task
  • Produce a podcast which will expand your business' web presence.
  • Look at competitors' websites and report on what they're doing - so you can analyze what your competitors' approaches and come up with strategies to outdo them
  • Find information you need to grow your business, such as identify affiliate programs that are relevant to your business and could increase your market reach
  • Look for websites or blogs relevant to your business where it might be profitable for you to advertise your products or services
Could you do all this yourself and still live the life you want? Probably not. Yet these things could take your business to the next level and ultimately increase your income. You should certainly be familiar with these processes in order to effectively hire and supervise somebody to do them for you. However, you don't have to do them yourself. Let a virtual assistant declutter your mind of the minute but essential details of business marketing and research. Then you can focus on work that have greater impact on your business, such as monitoring and evaluating your marketing efforts and those of your competitors, formulating strategies, and mapping out growth directions.

Web 2.0 and MyEmployee Solutions - Part 7

The concept of Web-as-participation-platform captures many of these characteristics. Bart Decrem, a founder and former CEO of Flock, calls Web 2.0 the "participatory Web" and regards the Web-as-information-source as Web 1.0. MyEmployee Solutions agree.

According to Best, the characteristics of Web 2.0 are: rich user experience, user participation, dynamic content, metadata, web standards and scalability. Three further characteristics that Best did not mention about web 2.0: openness, freedom and collective intelligence by way of user participation – all should be viewed as essential attributes of Web 2.0.

Web 2.0 and MyEmployee Solutions - Part 6

MyEmployee Solutions builds ont he strength of Web 1.0 and enhances it with Web 2.0 for its customers. Web 2.0 websites allow users to do more than just retrieve information. They can build on the interactive facilities of "Web 1.0" to provide "Network as platform" computing, allowing users to run software-applications entirely through a browser. Users can own the data on a Web 2.0 site and exercise control over that data. These sites may have an "Architecture of participation" that encourages users to add value to the application as they use it. This stands in contrast to very old traditional websites, the sort which limited visitors to viewing and whose content only the site's owner could modify. Web 2.0 sites often feature a rich, user-friendly interface based on Ajax, openlaszlo, Flex or similar rich media. The sites may also have social-networking aspects.

Friday, August 8, 2008

Web 2.0 and MyEmployee Solutions - Part 5

The idea of "Web 2.0" can also relate to a transition of some websites from isolated information silos to interlinked computing platforms that function like locally-available software in the perception of the user. Web 2.0 also includes a social element where users generate and distribute content, often with freedom to share and re-use which MyEmployee Solutions strongly recommends to its clients. This can result in a rise in the economic value of the web to businesses, as users can perform more activities online. Others have provided additional definitions of Web 2.0:

“ …the philosophy of mutually maximizing collective intelligence and added value for each participant by formalized and dynamic information sharing and creation.”

“ …all those Internet utilities and services sustained in a data base which can be modified by users whether in its content (adding, changing or deleting- information or associating metadates with the existing information), or how to display them, or in content and external aspect simultaneously.

Web 2.0 and MyEmployee Solutions - Part 4

In alluding to the version-numbers that commonly designate software upgrades, the phrase "Web 2.0" hints at an improved form of the World Wide Web by which MyEmployee Solutions uses effectively. Technologies such as weblogs (blogs), wikis, podcasts, RSS feeds (and other forms of many-to-many publishing), social software, and web application programming interfaces (APIs) provide enhancements over read-only websites. Stephen Fry, who writes a column about technology in the British Guardian newspaper, describes Web 2.0 as:

“ …an idea in people's heads rather than a reality. It’s actually an idea that the reciprocity between the user and the provider is what's emphasised. In other words, genuine interactivity, if you like, simply because people can upload as well as download.

Web 2.0 and MyEmployee Solutions - Part 3

O'Reilly provided examples of companies or products that embody these principles in his description of his four levels in the hierarchy of Web 2.0-ness by which MyEmployee Solutions' Web 2.0 division defines and uses to maximize the return of Web 2.0 to the companies it serves:

Level-3 applications, the most "Web 2.0"-oriented, only exist on the Internet, deriving their effectiveness from the inter-human connections and from the network effects that Web 2.0 makes possible, and growing in effectiveness in proportion as people make more use of them. O'Reilly gave as examples eBay, Craigslist, Wikipedia, del.icio.us, Skype, dodgeball, and AdSense.

Level-2 applications can operate offline but gain advantages from going online. O'Reilly cited Flickr, which benefits from its shared photo-database and from its community-generated tag database.

Level-1 applications operate offline but gain features online. O'Reilly pointed to Writely (now Google Docs & Spreadsheets) and iTunes (because of its music-store portion).

Level-0 applications work as well offline as online. O'Reilly gave the examples of MapQuest, Yahoo! Local, and Google Maps (mapping-applications using contributions from users to advantage could rank as "level 2").

Web 2.0 and MyEmployee Solutions - Part 2

Web 2.0 has numerous definitions. Tim O'Reilly regards Web 2.0 as business embracing the web as a platform and using its strengths (global audiences, expansive social networking, as examples). MyEmployee Solutions provides this service and utilizes weblogs, video blogs, social networking sites, etc - helping you embrace the Web and let your Web audience embrace you. O'Reilly considers that Eric Schmidt's abridged slogan, don't fight the Internet, encompasses the essence of Web 2.0 — building applications and services around the unique features of the Internet, as opposed to building applications and expecting the Internet to suit as a platform (effectively "fighting the Internet").

In the opening talk of the first Web 2.0 conference, O'Reilly and John Battelle summarized what they saw as the themes of Web 2.0. They argued that the web had become a platform, with software above the level of a single device, leveraging the power of the "Long Tail", and with data as a driving force. According to O'Reilly and Battelle, an architecture of participation where users can contribute website content creates network effects. Web 2.0 technologies tend to foster innovation in the assembly of systems and sites composed by pulling together features from distributed, independent developers. (This could be seen as a kind of "open source" or possible "Agile" development process, consistent with an end to the traditional software adoption cycle, typified by the so-called "perpetual beta".)

Web 2.0 technology encourages lightweight business models enabled by syndication of content and of service and by ease of picking-up by early adopters.

Web 2.0 and MyEmployee Solutions

Web 2.0 is a term which describes the trend in the use of World Wide Web technology and web design that aims to enhance creativity, information sharing, and, most notably, collaboration among users. These concepts have led to the development and evolution of web-based communities implemented by businesses around the globe, such as social-networking sites, wikis, blogs, and folksonomies that MyEmployee Solutions can easily deliver to its clients. The term became notable after the first O'Reilly Media Web 2.0 conference in 2004. Although the term suggests a new version of the World Wide Web, it does not refer to an update to any technical specifications, but to changes in the ways software developers and end-users use the Web.

Virtual Assistants and Viral Marketing

Viral marketing is the process of using peer-to-peer communications in order to rapidly spread information about a brand or message. MyEmployee Solutions' Virtual Assistants are experts in viral marketing which can help you spread the word about your brand.

The term ‘viral’ stems from the concept of a ‘virus’, a self-perpetuating phenomenon which infects whatever it comes in contact with, spreading itself in an expanding outward arc. Your message is the virus. The carriers are your audience.

High-Impact Marketing Messages Created by your Virtual Assistant

Successful ideas and messages are shared when people are able to relate to it on their own terms, within their existing worldview. That's what MyEmployee Solutions Marketing Virtual Assistants do - they specialize in creating impactful marketing messages for your brand. Virtual Marketing Assistants and Narrowcasting

MyEmployee Solutions ' Virtual Assistants specializes in narrowcasting which is both a subset and the opposite of broadcasting, which is the wide scale dissemination of content through electronic and traditional media channels, in order to reach a large audience.

Narrowcasting focuses on spreading messages to smaller niche audiences that are defined by their industry group, demographic profile, individual preferences and values. This means you should intentionally target a specific group of potential consumers by giving them customized messages only applicable to their interests or profile. The aim of this is to provoke a direct response from them, be it to purchase your product or perform a specific action.

Dump Trucks

A dump truck is a truck used for transporting material (like dirt, sand, gravel, rocks) for mining, construction and other purposes. Typically, a dump truck is equipped with hydraulics, an operated open-box bed hinged at the rear, the front of which can be lifted up by the driver or operator to allow the contents of the truck to be deposited on the ground behind the truck at the site of delivery. See dump trucks for sale.

Rising Global Construction Aggregates Demand Need More Dump Trucks

Global construction aggregates demand will rise 4.7 percent annually through 2011. India, China, Indonesia and Thailand will lead gains. This trend increases the demand for dump trucks delivering aggregates and other materials to construction sites. Infrastructure repair and maintenance will drive demand in developed areas. Land use concerns will benefit aggregates made of recycled and waste materials.

Used dump trucks are more cost-effective in medium-term projects as it's usage is not that short - wasting the cost of acquisition, nor span that long - entailing maintenance costs. This also eliminates the need for expensive brand new dump trucks

This study analyzes the $139 billion world construction aggregates industry. It presents historical demand data for the years 1996, 2001 and 2006 and forecasts for 2011 and 2016 by type (e.g., sand, crushed stone, gravel); market (nonbuilding construction, nonresidential building construction, residential building construction); application (e.g., hydraulic concrete, road base and coverings, asphaltic concrete); world region and for 23 countries.

Offshore Outsourcing Benefits Small to Mid-Market Businesses

Many American, Canadian, Australian and European businesses are outsourcing work offshore to countries such as the Philippines. Apart from being cost effective, outsourcing helps companies concentrate on their core competencies. Outsourcing will give any business a huge boost in productivity, improved quality, and ultimately an increase in profits.

The Philippines is one of the major outsourcing destinations that help companies realize these benefits due to its educated, proficient English-speaking workforce and robust Information and Communications Technology (ICT) infrastructure. The cost of outsourcing to the Philippines is only a fraction of the cost if it is going to be done in-house in the U.S. with the same quality, if not better.

While most Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies cater to large Fortune 500 clients, other firms like MyEmployee Solutions, respond to the needs of medium to small-sized businesses to help them seize the opportunities that the global outsourcing phenomenon brings, as well as to help them compete and grow.

Some Benefits of Outsourcing
